The Opportunity

This is not a standard senior attorney role. This is a partner-track plaintiff’s personal injury attorney opportunity for a candidate who possesses the requisite experience, judgment, and leadership ability to assist in running the law firm and carry it into its next chapter. Following a successful partnership, there exists potential for future succession in this long established and successful practice.

You’ll independently manage a caseload of cases, from intake through resolution, with support staff assisting you on them. We generate a consistent flow of clear liability cases, good value personal injury cases and provide experienced paralegal and administrative support, so you can focus on casework and client relationships. Compensation is structured to reward that: with real upside for a self-motivated attorney capable of maximizing their own results.

Who We’re Looking For

A senior attorney either already operating at, or clearly ready to step into, a partner-level role. Someone with strong personal injury work experience, a strong legal skill set, excellent ability to work with others, sound legal judgment, litigation experience, and a driven and strategic mindset. You are capable of taking full ownership of cases, including serious injury cases from beginning to end. You should be comfortable managing clients directly, evaluating liability and damages, negotiating substantial claims, litigating when necessary, and working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, experts, and support staff.

This role suits someone with good management skills and aptitude, strong efficiency in running a caseload and turning settlements, who has an entrepreneurial spirit and wants more than a job. A skilled attorney looking for a partnership path, long-term growth, leadership, and a hand in shaping the future of one of the top and most respected plaintiff’s personal injury practices in the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage plaintiff’s personal injury cases from intake through resolution, including case sign-up, strategy, and lien negotiations.
  • Evaluate new cases and develop liability, damages, settlement, and litigation strategy.
  • Oversee case development, investigation, evidence gathering, demand preparation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Litigate cases when necessary, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s attorneys, paralegals, and administrative team to deliver strong outcomes, and oversee their work on your cases.
  • Maintain excellent, high-touch communication with clients throughout their case.
  • Negotiate medical liens and help maximize net client recoveries.
  • Exercise sound judgment in case valuation, risk assessment, and resolution strategy.
  • Contribute to the firm’s continued growth and reputation by upholding its impeccable standards and by demonstrating the leadership, professionalism and business judgment expected of a future partner.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the California State Bar.
  • At least 10 years of experience working in personal injury law, with a proven track record of successful outcomes; plaintiff-side experience preferable, though defense-side PI and insurance defense and particularly litigation experience in this area of law will also be considered.
  • Strong litigation experience, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, required, with a preference for experience with arbitration and trial.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage serious personal injury cases from start to finish.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Strong case valuation and settlement strategy skills.
  • Efficient, self-starter, self-motivated, and results driven
  • Leadership ability, sound business judgment, and a genuine interest in long-term growth with the law firm.
