I was seriously injured in an elevator door accident. The door shut on me with such force and speed that I fell and broke my leg and re-injured a previously broken hip. Initially the insurance company just shut us down and said the elevator was current on inspections, so there was no liability. Dawn would not take no for an answer, she is the most tenacious person I have ever met. Dawn relentlessly pushed forward and hired a door expert to weigh and measure the closing speed of the door. He determined the exterior door leading to the elevator did not meet current building code requirements, it closed twice as fast as the law requires.

The insurance company tried to blame me for the accident, as I am an older person and was partially disabled by a prior stroke which impacted the use of one of my arms. Well, Dawn, and her team of attorneys were having none of it, and forcefully shut them right down. Dawn’s staff spent countless hours contacting people that knew me after the stroke but before this accident to get a complete picture of who I was both physically and emotionally. Dawn and her staff believed in me!! It was long grueling work but they built an airtight case that could not be penetrated.
